FAQ

  • So, do you mail out scripts?
No. You can download an evaluation script. It differs from the acting editions only in that the evaluation scripts have a watermark of "For Evaluation Only."
  • How do I get an acting edition?
Once you purchase a performance license, you are sent the acting edition, which differs from the evaluation edition in that the "For Evaluation Only" watermark is removed.
  • How much do the acting editions cost?
Both the evaluation scripts and the acting editions are free. You can print them out or your actors can simply use the the scripts on a computer or mobile device.
  • How do I license a play and how much does it cost?
To license a play, click on "licensing" in the menu and select the play to license. For plays that have previously been produced, licensing is a non-refundable deposit of $50, and (for theaters under 200 seats), the fee is $100 per performance. For theaters over 200 seats, the performance license fee is on a case-by-case basis. For plays available for world-premier, fill out the form and we will work with you!
  • May I make a promo video?
Please do! We allow up to six minutes of video for use in promotions. You can, for example, make four different 90 second videos or six one minute videos. You may also record your entire performance, for archival use only. Please do not post to the public (such as YouTube) any more than six minutes of video.
  • What happens if I need to cancel a performance, or the entire run?
Just let us know within two weeks of the last scheduled performance and we will gladly refund your performance licensing fee for any cancelled performance.
  • For evaluation, can I just listen to the play during my commute?
Yes! We are slowly adding audio versions of the plays so you can listen to the play on your phone during your daily jog! Your actors may also find the audio helpful for memorization. Click on the "Free Scripts" in the menu. Not all plays have audio, but we are working on it.
  • I am an actor. Do you have monologues from these plays for use in auditions?
Yes! Click the "Monologues" menu item. You are free to use the monologues in auditions, but please attribute the play and playwright.
